Dr. Ujjwal Mandal
Bio
Dr. Ujjwal Mandal, Assistant Professor at the University of Burdwan, completed his Master of Science in Chemistry from the esteemed Visva-Bharati University in 2006. He further solidified his expertise by obtaining his Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Kankan Bhattacharyya. To broaden his research horizons, Dr. Mandal undertook postdoctoral research at Lund University, Sweden, from 2012 to 2014 with Professor Villy Sundström. This international experience not only enhanced his knowledge but also fostered collaborations with global researchers. Dr. Mandal's research endeavors focus on harnessing the potential of nanotechnology, green chemistry, and biosurfactants to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Dr. Mandal's research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of quantum dots and biosurfactants, leveraging green chemistry principles to develop novel sensing platforms, fluorescence probes. His work also explores biological activity and other type of interaction studies.
